Imperfect Angel

I grew up with cricket as my first love. Cricket was the only sport I knew and this was when it was famous for its two formats - Test cricket and One Day Internationals. My favourite being Test cricket - cricket in its purest form.

Back then I was mesmerised by the likes of Gary Kirsten, Jonty Rhodes, Hansie Cronje, Daryll Cullinan etc. Now, the likes of AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn, David Miller, Hashim Amla and Morne Morkel keep me glued to my tv screen.

Then there are those cricketers I love to hate - Michael Clarke, David Warner, Alistar Cook, Ian Bell, Lasith Malinga, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Rangana Herath and Virat Kohli.

However, my passion doesn't end with the cricketers. A wicket, an impressive partnership, half century, century, catch, stumping, run out, extra, four, six - as long as it benefits my team, it warms my heart.

The description of this blog is "Fall in love with cricket all over again" and that's what happened to me. The Proteas and Sunfoil Dolphins brought me back to life.

Obviously the Proteas are our national cricket team and the Sunfoil Dolphins are my domestic cricket team. So in 2013 I went to all the Proteas and Sunfoil Dolphins matches I could go to in KwaZulu Natal. And, just like a cricketer from Durban, I call Sahara Stadium Kingsmead my home ground.

One more thing, I'm also a cricket umpire.
